DO YOU KNOW US? |
The Lincoln County Registry of Deeds is a County office which records various documents — deeds, mortgages, discharges, divorces, court records, affidavits, liens, survey plans and many others.
The Recording Process
Upon arrival at our office, each instrument is checked to ensure that it meets state recording mandates. Documents accepted for recording are assigned an instrument number for computer control purposes and a deed book and page number.
The following information is then indexed from the document:
Date and time of recording
Date of the document
Book and page of recording
Location of the property by town
Type of document (deed, mortgage, lien, etc.)
Grantor(s) name(s) as typed beneath their signature(s)
or exactly as shown on the document
Grantee(s) names(s) as typed in the document
Documents are proofread daily, scanned into the computer to create images then printed into books for shelving in the Book Room. The originals are compared to the book for accuracy and clarity; and finally the documents are returned to the recording party.
Access to the Registry is now available via the Internet at:

The internet service is an expansion of the public access already available in the Book Room. This component is a continuation of our commitment to providing high quality service to all our customers. Access to our web site indices is free. However, if you want to view or print images, registration is required in order to receive a User ID and Password.
